Two Hops
In a different direction.
I was taking a walk today and passed the community garden.
I heard a noise - thumping in quick succession. A pause. Then thumping again.
Turning around, I saw a small bird.
It was trapped between the garden’s wire fence and a tall bucket holding plants.
Jumping, the bird would flap its wings but hit the bucket instead of air (hence the thumping) and land back on the ground.
Three times tried, three times failed.
Finally, the bird noticed what I noticed. Two steps to the right, the path was clear. No bucket in the way.
The bird took two small hops in that direction and tried again. Unencumbered by the bucket, it flew to the top of the bucket easily. From there, it jumped up to a higher ledge - and took off into the bright blue sky.
It made me wonder.
What path is open to me if I just take two hops in a different direction?

Two hops and a bucket mover =

Stepping aside so to perfectly adjust a try to reach a goal is a good strategy: better take more time than risking a failure. Or stepping back as well. As we say in French, especially in stadiums: -'Reculer pour mieux sauter', 'Stepping back for a better jump'. Have a great week Anne and Family.
